Mythling
This is to be a physical virtual pet that players can carry around in their pocket, raise, train, evolve and battle against other players.
Features
Life Cycle
The virtual pet should go from an egg to a fully evolved creature. Evolution path will be determine by several factors like what the mythlings sleep cycle is like, what the feeding schedule is like, how often it trains, how many steps are averaged per day etc.
Vital Stats
These are Hunger, Hygeine and Entertainment. These are the day to day tasks of taking care of the pet.
Combat Stats
These are things like physical defense, strength, dexterity, etc. In the same way evolution path is determined, these stats will be increased similarly.
Combat
I'm thinking a turned based battle system using stats determined as outlined above. What moves the opet has access to will also be decided by care schedule.
Hardware
I'm leaning towards using a raspberry pi zero w with a backlit screen, two buttons, a d-pad, battery, accelerometer and maybe a small speaker. The limitations of the hardware are why I may need to develop this game in something less resource intense than Godot 4. Maybe something like pico 8?
